about to reach 80,000 sites

It's been a long time since I last updated this site.

I was focusing on other projects and had no time to update... sorry.

Now web scouter seems to be losing its power, but inspected sites are about to reach 80,000.

Current Top 10 sites are:

- CNN
- NYT
- /.
- Digg
- CNET
- Lifehacker
- WordPress
- BBC
- Dictionary.com
- TUAW

I love to read all of the above, except Dictonary.com.

It's a really good site, but I have no idea why they use "reference.com" instead of "dictionary.com"..

Releasing Web Scouter API

Today, I am happy to announce that the Web Scouter API is now open to public.

Though it is just a simple REST API to grab the scouter value of the given url, I believe it is useful for most of the web sites that want to measure the real power of the media sites and blogs.

I have also prepared a Japanese version of the same API, in case you are Japanese.

Enjoy!

Do you know "Yahoo! Japan"?
A company that is famous for free Internet portal site, issues a magazine called "Yahoo! Internet Guide", famous for expensive, or I would say "comparably expensive" magazine.

Now Web Scouter is on Yahoo! Japan Internet Guide.

Geez, you can also see "simpleapi.net" on the captured image :)
It's also a cool service.

Web Scouter is introduced by Weekly ASCII, a major Japanese PC magazine published by ASCII Co.,Ltd.

It says "You can check the power of the web site by just clicking the web scouter button on your browser. ... Web scouter has a cool effect on activating it."

They never say it comes from "Dragon Ball." Good respect for Toei :-)
